Cante Sireno;;Let me sing, this song I carry.{A} black and gold form thundered over the steep terrain. Cante breathed in deeply the crisp mountain air reminding him of his beloved home. He stopped for a moment gold tipped ears swiveling all around listening to the many sounds of the forest. His nose twitched as the different smells came to his black nose. His paws started to move again, the muscles in his shoulders and haunches showing clearly that this was a mountain wolf. He traveled up higher and higher crossing cold mountain streams made from the ice still covering the largest mountain on these lands. He traveled down a small hill his feet now flying. Then as fast as lightning he was up another hill, and down again the large mountain looming ever closer. He jumped over a fallen log easily and finally he was at the base. He stopped for a moment breathing easily. Then he started his trek up. It was many hours later that he reached the place he was looking for, it was a small cave. It was just before the pointy tip of the mountain and Cante was sure it would lead to the many cave systems that pocked this mountain. He walked to the edge of the high mountain ledge and howled.
I, Senor Cante Sireno, claim this as my homeland.
His words were heavily accented and sounded sing song.
;;A song of Love, that will not die.

... When it is darkest ¬ {E} b o n a , men see the stars ...

[/color] It was more the musical tones than the proclamation that urged Ebona to abandon her starry refuge to visit the windy, barren mountaintop of Singfar. As she faded gently into being near the cave, her dark emerald eyes took into account the handsome midnight brute in front of her. Even as the sunset slowly in the distance, the golden tints on his fur shone brightly in the light. If it was for the fact that he was claiming this land, she would of almost mistook him for some kind of demi-god.
Even though the sun was weak, her own fur caught whatever rays it could catch, and like a giant prism, seemed to glow, casting off rays of colored light. Stars glittered in her pelt of ebony darkness, which despite her glow, was as pitch dark as the night sky. The many-hued gem in the middle of her forehead danced in the light as she moved gracefully towards. He was tall, but she had no problem looking down at him. Her own size did not diminish the grace and sovereign dignity with which she composed herself.
And then she spoke with the power of the oak and the gentleness of the willow; much like an age-old queen. It was the voice of power, but with an understanding in it, like she was someone whom you could hold your complete trust in.
"You claim this land, and you shall have it. A word of caution, young Cante Sireno, the neighboring packs will not hesitate to kill you and take what is yours. You would do wise to understand your territory as quickly as possible and confide only in those whom you trust. I see-" and she stopped, a painful look on her face as she looked suddenly past his shoulder into the gradually perusing darkness. "I see trouble ahead.... A face.... Of darkness.... I cannot see his face." she added quietly, more to herself than to Cante Sireno. She turned back to him, a worried expression still lingering on her face, and then it was gone.
Stepping towards him, she put her nose on his forehead, speaking as she did so. "I grant you the powers of an Alpha. You may now travel to the Plains of a Thousand Echos to find pack members. The road is long and if you should stumble, I can not help you. Go in my embrace." she said, stepping backwards. There, where she had touched him was a single gem.
With a nod, she turned her back on him and walked towards a jutting rock. Walking off the face of it, she climbed steadily into the sky, fading gently as quickly as she had come...
