`kashmir. People are strange, when you're a stranger; Faces look ugly, when you're alone. Women seem wicked, when you're unwanted; Streets are uneven, when you're down.
Black tipped paws tickled the surface of the land as the lean figure of Kash finally arrived at her destination. Her paws no sooner blessed the ground with their presence, then they were reaching once more, outward, as a small patch of green in this otherwise golden landscape inched ever closer. Mismatched eyes of both gold and brown flashed to and fro; large ears moving just as rapidly. New lands made Kash's heart race with anticipation; anticipating the worst of course.
Kash's entire body was tense, her tail held straight out behind her as if she were simply searching for a fight. In reality, she was simply searching for the oasis. Her adventurous self had already tire of the Loner's mines and copses, she was instead going to come to this desolate place in the hopes of finding some sort of salvation. And yet in the back of her mind she knew that had not been a smart choice.
It had only taken five minutes in these lands to discover its purpose. It was not made to exit, it was created for the sheer purpose of entering. Entering what, she did not know. Her long strides carried her east, as the oasis looming into view. Stopping abruptly, her eyes welcomed the lush greenery as opposed to the burning yellow of the grasslands at her back. Pink and black nose twitched inquisitively; she had a feeling this oasis was never without its company.

Lace~Lace walked daintily over the rocky ground of the plain. Her small form shimmered in stark contrast to the surrounding forest. Her white coat was ruffled by a dark breeze as her foot finally stepped upon something other than hard earth. She looked down and saw the most wondrous green grass. Her sore paws welcomed the change, and she just stood there for a moment digging her black claws into the soft grass. After a moment her small white paws started to walk across the oasis once more. She was so taken by the contrast from the plain that she accidentally bumped into a tall maned wolf. Lace almost fell underneath her she was so small, but she managed to gain her balance. Looking up at the red female Lace smiled and spoke,
Sorry about that. I'm Lace. Who are you?

Kash had had no intentions of joining a pack, and yet here she was in the Land of 1000 Echos. Her multicolored nose twitched as she picked up the scents of Alphas, all male mind you, and the less noticeable scents of males and females alike. This was a claiming ground, and there she stood smack dab in the middle of it. Large black ears lay flat against her wide skull as a clearly aggravated look burned in her eyes. What the hell had she gotten herself into?
As her nose continued to twitch, it picked up a much fresher scent. A scent much to fresh for her liking. The black hairs on her neck rose abit as she caught sight of a coyote. Moments after spotting the creature, her nose and eyes seemed to disagree. The snow white creature appeared to be a coyote, or atleast it's size did. And yet her nose told her wolf. As she debated over the species of this canine, she also began to wonder if it was blind. For it was coming awfully close, without showing any signs that it had noticed her standing there. And by standing there, we mean towering over the tiny she-creature.
Kash's brow raised, but she did not growl or give any warning at all. The other wolf was much to small for her to feel threatened, and it was obviously oblivious to her presence anyways. Kash's eyes watched as the white wolf ran smack into her long legs, and she stifled a laugh as it nearly ended up beneath her. Brow still raised in slight disbelief, Kash simply stare at her for a moment after she spoke.
"Kashmir." she answered, her tone making the response sound more like a question than anything as her mismatched eyes gleamed in a stray beam of sunlight.

Lace~Lace smiled at the large wolfess' answer. It sounded more like a question than an answer. Bright silver/blue eyes sparkled as she spoke her lyrics soft, but firm,
Is that a question or an answer? Always best to be sure of your name, I mean what else do we have to be sure of in this world?
She walked back a little bit her fluffy coat making it look like she was dancing. She sat down her rump on the soft grass and looked about her curiously. This place was teeming with wolves. Lace didn't know how she had missed that. Turning her attention back to Kashmir she spoke again,
Do you mind if I stay with you? As I said this world is an uncertain place. I would feel safer staying here for a moment.
Her eyes were hopeful, and looked to be full of innocence, but if you looked closer you could see many years of hurt, and wisdom lurking in those pools of silvery blue. ((ooc. sorry rushed...))

Kash's brow was on the rise once more as the she wolf spoke again. She sounded more like an elder than anything, maybe she yearned to appear wise, maybe she was wise. Either way, her way of wording things continued to amuse Kash. As the white wolf offered her own gentle smile, Kash did not return it. Her brown and gold eyes simply bore into Lace's own shimmering blue. She offered no response to the other wolf's second question.
Kash watched Lace's awkward jig before she too reclined upon slender haunches. Kash smirked as Lace spoke again, this time retorting with her own bit of wisdom. "You claim to know just how full of uncertainty this world really is; yet you also claim to feel safe with a total stranger?" Seemingly unblinking eyes continued to watch the white stranger, she reminded Kash of a pup who'd been abused by her own family.

Lace~Lace laughed, a soft tinkling sound, like bells, at the Kashmir's response. She spoke with the weight of all her years behind them,
This is true. Maybe I will choose to trust, even if I have been disapointed in the past.
She spoke as a grandmother. Her blue eyes looking wearily at the throng of unsuspecting wolves coming and going. Her face suddenly brightened again to it's same youthful joy, and she turned her petite head back to Kashmir. She was interested in what might be her response.
Her attention was drawn away from the maned wolf again by some commotion on the edge of the oasis. A young wolf was bothering a larger wolf with a strange stone on his forehead. The stupid littler wolf got smacked upside his head by the large wolf and he went tumbling off. His mother, most likey, followed after him whining and barking at the large wolf. He just ignored her and started heading Lace and Kashmir's way. Lace merely stood still waiting to see if he would approach.

Kash's ears were pulled flat against her head once more at Lace's laughter, but were soon cupped again toward the white wolf as she spoke. "Am I correct in assuming that trusting is what let to your past disappointment?" Kash's own voice was rather harsh, and almost sinister, though not quite a dark one.
Kash's own eyes followed Lace's as she too watched the scuffle. As the gemed male, clearly an Alpha, neared them a deep rumbling could be heard in her chest. Ears were once more pulled back, her eyes seeming to catch fire as she watched him. Slowly, she got back on her feet; tail straight out behind her, neigther in a dominant position or a submissive. Wary wasn't exactly the word to describe Kash at this point, eyes narrowed, now watching the male with little regard to Lace's company.
ooc; bleh, rushed. xD

Xerxes's paws bounced as he headed along the plains. His lower jaw dropped, salmon pink tongue lolling out and resting over his bottom canines. His blades and pelivs rolled easily as he loped along. Thick ash, ivory and ebony fur bristled gently in the summer breeze. He could feel the warm sunlight on his back. Triangular shaped ears were pricked, acoustics cupping any faint noise that might come to them.
His tail hung down between his back hocks, swaying gently to the motion of the movement. His amber orbs were locked a head of him. He was out here hoping to find a few more females for his pack. As he rounded the corner, the wind brought him the scents of two wolves...a female and a male. A smile formed on his face as he trotted toward them.
He spied them lounging underneath a tree and immediately headed toward them. He planted his rump down on the grass, forelegs coming around to the front of his chest, keeping his upper body erect. He lowered his head a bit so that he was eye level with them.
He lifted an upper lip up and began speaking to them.
"Hello. What are your names?" Xerxes cooed as he waited for one of them to speak again.

Lace~Lace watched with mixed emotions as the wolf veered off to another group of wolves. Beside her Kash seemed to have forgotten her. It was no matter to Lace. She wanted to find out what this place was, and she wanted to leave. The tense atmosphere was getting to her, not that she let her tension show though.
"Hello. What are your names?"
A soft voice caused Lace to turn her snow white head. She saw a white and black wolf smiling at her and Kasmir. She sat up and bowed and then spoke her tones smooth, and musical,
I am Lace, and this is Kashmir. Who might you be, kind sir?
She was the picture of grace, and intelligence as she got up from her bow and sat down primly. Her white fluffy tail wrapped around her snow white feet covering them. She looked like a goddess, her warm dark blue eyes staring at the male kindly. She noticed he had a gem on his forehead also. Lace wondered what it could mean...

Xerxes smiled at Lace and Kashmir and bowed his head slightly, noticing the bow that she'd given him. He chuckled a bit before speaking to them.
"I am Xerxes, alpha of the Innocence Pack. Might I inquire as to why you fine canids are out here today?" he questioned curiously cocking his head to one side in a curious manner.
His bushy ash, ebony and ivory mixed tail was wrapped around his back legs, twitching on occasion. A warm summer breeze whipped over his back, ruffling a few patches of his fur. Both ears were turned toward them, awaiting a response. He yawned, his lower jaw dropped, salmon pink tongue curling back into his maw. Shortly , his jaws snapped shut and he regarded the two females before him. He figured they were wanting a pack, but it was still hard sometimes to make conversation. Not for him of course...but some females tend to get shy and quiet around a male, so this was a way to break the ice. He blinked, his amber orbs watching them closely.
Xerxes was never one to really turn away a female. Although ,he did have a bit of a standard. He didnt want weak, sick females in his pack. When breeding time came, it would produce good strong pups. Thats what every male wanted pretty much, well that and a mate. But Xer loved to flirt. He never stopped, even if the female had a mate already...but he was very good and loyal. He was just overly friendly toward the opposite sex. He wasn't about to change for anyone. Xer waited patiently for the two females to respond.

`kashmir. People are strange, when you're a stranger; Faces look ugly, when you're alone. Women seem wicked, when you're unwanted; Streets are uneven, when you're down.
It took everything in Kash to keep from snapping at the pompous puffball who had taken it upon her her ridiculous little self to introduce Kashmir. Her mismatched eyes of both brown and gold bore rather angrily down upon the porcelian doll that was Lace as she bowed to Xerxes. Go ahead, lick the dirt from his pads, she thought, though somehow managed to bite her tongue. Which was quite something, in Kash's case.
Black ears clamped tightly down upon her head as she fixed her focus on Xerxes. He seemed a capable wolf, he didn't seem to be all appearances, but the second he opened his mouth Kash didn't doubt he was all talk. Infact, to her slight amusement, she realized he was obviously a sweet talker. Brow raised as if inquiring if Xerxes truely thought this method would work, she smirked.
"I, actually, am here by complete accident. Sorry, hun." she answered him, her tone dancing on the borderline between seductive and mocking.
