Anselma panted heavily as she ran towards the oasis. Jumping over the large hidden rocks and avoiding any buffalo that crossed her path, she managed to reach the place within minutes. Upon arriving, she immediately jumped over to the lake and began licking up the cool water. Closing her eyes as she lapped it up, she let the rest of her body fall into a resting position. Once she had her fill, she stretched out and began slowly exploring the oasis.
After wandering for several moments, she looked up at the tall, strange trees and began wondering what kind of life resided in them. There appears to very little life in them now, she blinked, bringing her head down and walking again, but, oh, when I rule, they will be filled. Hearing the distant bellows of several buffalo, she stopped abruptly. Scanning the horizon, she concluded that the animals were far enough away and would not bother her anytime soon.
She walked around the lake until the sun began to set. After lapping up a bit more water, she settled down under the largest tree and closed her eyes. Several minutes later, she drifted off into the dream of being a leader in her own little world.

Anselma slowly woke up, keeping her eyes shut as she stretched out and yawned. Blinking several times, she rose to her feet and noticed another wolf in the oasis. Tensing up, she slowly approached the other wolf and several moments later noticed that she was asleep. Oh good, she doesn't seem dangerous at all. Anselma concluded, slowly turning around and walking around the oasis again.
How long am I going to have to wait here? she wondered, walking over to the edge of the oasis and looking out at the horizon. After debating whether she should continue to explore the oasis or rest at the edge and wait, she decided on the latter and lied down. Perking up her ears, she closed her eyes and fell into a light sleep.

Anslema's ears twitched slightly as she heard the distant cracking of leaves and sticks. Opening her eyes, she yawned and blinked several times, attempting to wake herself fully up. Heaving herself to her feet she stretched and yawned for a second time, silently glad that she was woken up to greet the day and was not alone in this oasis. As the other wolf approached even closer, she lifted her tail slightly and slowly turned to face her. When the other wolf finally stopped, Anselma spoke out.
"Hello there," she dipped her head slightly, "I decided it was best not to try and wake you earlier. So, I take it you are also waiting for a pack? Do you have any idea when we will finally be found and accepted?"

Anselma brought her tail down a little bit and let it fall into a relaxed position. "Oh yes, I forgot to mention that. I'm Anselma," she took a step forward before adding "Where are you from originally? I was just a loner who became tired of that lifestyle." Keeping her gaze on Dawn, Anselma situated herself into a seated position. Once she become comfortable, she wrapped her tail around her legs. Trying to suppress an oncoming yawn, she waited for Dawn's answer.

"Feel what?" Anselma asked quickly, standing up. She began looking around to see if any wolf was around. When she couldn't see any, she turned her gaze back to Dawn. "Hm...I didn't feel anything. Maybe it could have been some sort of spirit or something?" Anselma suggested, falling back into her previous position, "It's strange when things like that happen..." Anselma started to become lost in her thoughts when she realized that Dawn had answered her previous question. "Oh, and I'm sorry about what happened to your previous pack. Who assumed the role of the Alpha male?" She kept her gaze on dawn, though she became more aware of any other presences around them.

"Ah, jealousy," Anselma shook her head slightly, "it's that little green monster in someone that can really ruin another wolf's life." Anselma looked back on her life and counted her blessings that her life had never been ruined because of another wolf's envy. Trying to think up of any other topic she could bring up, Anselma looked around the oasis to see if there were any wolves or other animals that might have sneaked in during their conversation. Concluding that there were none that would be interesting to investigate, Anselma turned her gaze back to Dawn. "What kind of territory do you like to roam in? I personally like mountainous terrain so I can stand at the top of the hills and see land around me for miles. Oh, and the prey and other resources tend to be plentiful which is nice."

"That does sound pretty nice," Anselma admitted, looking up at one of the tall, shady trees, "it almost sounds like this oasis." Bringing her gaze down, she added, "only with more trees." She began to imagine what it would be like to live in a forest territory. Lots of space to run on and prey to chase down...but, eh, it's too closed in. Blinking herself out of her thoughts, she looked at Dawn. "Now that we have talked about our pasts and favorite territories, what shall we discuss next?"
